Meet Our Doctors of Optometry
Dr. Natasha K. Jenkins received her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Missouri - St. Louis College of Optometry where she was named Class Marshal for graduating first in her Class of 2007. She was the recipient of the Dean's Award for Excellence in Academic Scholarship and the Missouri Optometric Foundation's Excellence in Clinical Optometry Award. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Jenkins earned a Bachelor of Arts degree as a Walter Scott Scholar at Hastings College graduating Summa Cum Laude with High Distinction in 2003. She was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society and the Hastings College Lady Bronco volleyball and basketball teams. She also performed as a violinist in the Hastings Symphony Orchestra.
Dr. Jenkins is a native of Western Nebraska having graduated as Scottsbluff High School Valedictorian in 1999. She has been the winner of our community's "Favorite Eye Doctor" in numerous Star-Herald Reader's Choice contests. Dr. Jenkins and her son Dex enjoy traveling together, building LEGO, and competing with and against one another in all types of athletic workouts.
Dr. Jenkins is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Nebraska Optometric Association, the Wyoming Optometric Association and the Nebraska Foundation for Children's Vision.
Dr. Paul B. Colburn received his Doctor of Optometry degree at Pacific University College of Optometry in 1990. He also earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Pacific University in 1988, having previously studied at the University of Wyoming from 1983-1986. He is the son of Dr. Jerry Colburn who was an optometrist with Scottsbluff Vision Clinic from its inception over 60 years ago.
Dr. Colburn is a native of Western Nebraska having graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1981. He and his wife Deneen have two children, Brian who is an optometrist at Oregon Trail Eye Center and Amy who resides with her family on a ranch in South Dakota.
Dr. Colburn is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and Husker football.
Dr. Colburn is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Nebraska Optometric Association and the Wyoming Optometric Association.
Dr. J. Todd Mahoney received his Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1983. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry and secondary education from Midland Lutheran College in 1977. He played varsity basketball at Midland as a three-year starter and earned four letters.
Dr. Mahoney is a native of Western Nebraska having graduated from Mitchell High School in 1973. He and his wife Cindy have two sons, Thomas a college professor in mathematics at Emporia State University and Trevor who is employed with NTC in Gering. Dr. Mahoney enjoys golf, Husker football, most spectator sports and being a grandpa. He also dabbles in fantasy football.
Dr. Mahoney is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Nebraska Optometric Association and the Wyoming Optometric Association.
Dr. Megan Rother received her Doctor of Optometry Degree at Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry in 2019. She was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, President of the AZCOPT Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity and recipient of an award for Excellence in Clinical Skills. She also completed an Ocular Disease and Primary Care Residency at The Eye Institute of the Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Rother earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina where she was a member of the track and field and cross-country teams. She is a native of Langhorne, Pennsylvania where she graduated from Villa Joseph Marie High School in 2009. Dr. Rother is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Nebraska Optometric Association and the Wyoming Optometric Association.
